After one of our readers kindly pointed out errors on the Lunette Battery page we pulled it down for a thorough review. After further research we are pleased to be able to reinstate the updated article today. The Lunette Battery at Newhaven, East Sussex was once a major defensive structure and featured three very large Rifled Muzzle Loading cannons; each with a range of about 5000yds. Sadly there are few remaining examples left of these guns and it is perhaps a shame that one does not reside at the battery for visitors to see.
